Introducing the concepts of quadrilaterals to kids can be a very challenging task. Different children have different learning capacities, which makes teaching that much more complicated. Some kids may understand the basics of geometry in just a few moments, while other kids may not have a clue of what you are talking about. In this post, we're going to give you a few tips on how you can teach your kids the basics of quadrilaterals, which is a key part of geometry.

There are many types of quadrilaterals, which may cause a lot of confusions in young kids. Therefore, it is important to first establish the idea of a quadrilateral in them. Keep emphasizing the fact that a quadrilateral is simply and shape made of four straight lines. Make sure they understand that a quadrilateral is not a fixed shape, like a circle or square.

A helpful tip is to teach the kids a quadrilateral song. Many songs are available and you could chose a song that you think fits your lass the best. A lot of these songs are sung to the tune of common songs, so you can chose one which the kids will have fun singing.
